Can we claim a second home mortage interest?

We bought a second home and will not be renting it out. Can I claim the mortgage interest paid?  I viewed the video on Tax Breaks and Home Ownership and am confused if this is for first home owners or second home owners.  Can you please clarify.

As you are not using the home for income purposes, you are not able to claim any expenses associated with the home, including mortgage interest.
