Dispose of property same as moving?

We moved in 2016 (i.e. one principle residence to another)... is this the same as "disposing" of a property?  I tend to think not as any capital gains that were earned on the sale of the principle property were invested into the new property (i.e. equity)

Dispose of property same as moving?

As of October 2016 the Canada Revenue Agency requires all property sales be reported on the income tax return whether the sale results in a Capital Gain or not. Use the Principal Residence Designation area to determine if a gain has occurred. (additional information at the Link below).
