How to enter my expenses for the self employment work like gas, van rental fees, phone data?

Thank you for your question,

GAS: As per CRA, you can deduct the cost of fuel (including gasoline, diesel, and propane), motor oil, and lubricants used in your business. You can get more information from the website of Motor vehicle expenses

However, if you use a motor vehicle or passenger vehicle for business and personal use, you can deduct only the part of the expenses that you paid to earn income.

VAN LEASING FEES: You can deduct the business percentage of your lease payments. For leased vehicles, the limit on the monthly lease payment that you can deduct is $800 per month plus HST, which works out to a maximum of $9,600 in expenses that are tax-deductible annually. You can watch the video What Motor Vehicle Expenses Can Self-Employed Claim?  to get more information about motor vehicle expenses.

PHONE DATA:

You can deduct your cell phone as a business expense from your business income, you can note your costs on Form T2125, Statement of Business and Professional Activities. This form helps you calculate your net business income.

If you use your cell phone for both personal and business use, you can only claim a portion of its cost as a business expense.

For more information on business expenses, see the CRA Business Expenses section and Tax Tip: Cell phone expenses for self-employed individuals and small business owners
