I have put in foreign tax paid under Foreign Slip Income. Why there is no foreign tax credit in the deduction summary?

There is nothing entered for line 256 or 431

The foreign tax credit is buried in the Schedule 1 line 405

To see the credit please click on the "Deductions" tab and click "Summary". You should be able to see the foreign taxes paid here.

Thank you.  I see it there.  However, it doesn't seem to figure in the overall tax calculation. The foreign country is New Zealand.

Once you have paid for your return, you can download the PDF on the summary page. You can double check the schedule 1 from there. You can still make changes to your return after payment but before netfiling.
