I rented my personal residence for filming a TV commercial. How do I treat the income?

I rented my personal residence twice during the year for filming, one for a TV commercial and the other for a TV show.  The total number of days of rental was 8 days.

If you feel that this is an ongoing opportunity in future years and that you intend to claim some expenses against this income (incurred during the rental period), then you should set up Schedule T2125 Statement of Business Activities.  If this was a one off event and you are not electing or are unable to claim expenses( fully reimbursed) then you can claim the amount as other income on Line 130 of the tax return.

The film company gave me a T4A and put the amount in Box 048.  Can I ignore that and claim as other income?
