I split my pension with my wife. In 2016 she had capital gains. I carry unused capital losses. Can I apply my capital losses against her gains in our 2016 returns?

In the examples there is no answers to questions that relate to splitting pension income and the possibility of using my capital losses against my wife's capital gains.

Capital losses of one taxpayer cannot be applied against another taxpayer's capital gains, whether related by marriage or otherwise.
