Province of residence changed in 2016, but there's nowhere to put the other province's rent information

My daughter lived in Quebec for 1/2 the year and Ontario the other half, but when we go to put in the rent paid, we only seem to have the option to put in information for Ontario... Please help?

You are limited to the credits offered by the province where you reside now. Credits from your former province of residence are no longer available to you.

Thanks for the incredibly quick response. That's kind of crappy. Should we file a return with Revenu Quebec as well then?

You can only file one provincial tax return per year based on your place of residence for December 31st. On the plus side your tax liability may be lower in the new province, if that helps you.

Are we still OK to submit the T4 from her employment in Quebec though?

Include the T4 the same way, but add any tax withheld in QC (Releve 1) to the tax shown in Box 22 of the T4. The tax will transfer from QC to your current province.

NEW INFORMATION: Under the "Setting up area of Turbo Tax, select "Profile" and make sure to indicate in the section "did you work" that you have the Releve 1 for QC. Then Turbo Tax will let you enter the information for both slips, T4 & R1.
