Can I claim rental expenses if I had no rental income
According to the tax law, the deduction of rental income will be allowed if these expenses were reasonable and incurred to generate rental income. Base on the information given, due to there was no rental income during the tax period, then you will not be allowed to reduce your taxable base by reporting either rental current expense or rental capital expenses.
