We sold our house this year (had it 4 years, two of which we rented as we lived in Australia). Was living in the house when we sold (more than a year). Taxable?

Yes. You may have to pay capital gains tax on the house for the period when you were renting it out. As per this Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) webpage: Disposing of your principal residence "If your home was not your principal residence for every year that you owned it, you have to report the part of the capital gain on the property that relates to the years for which you did not designate the property as your principal residence.”

Please see this TurboTax FAQ for instructions on how to report the sale of your principal residence: How do I report the sale of my home (principal residence)?
