When I file my tax return with TurboTax, I can't find the "Rent Expenses" option. Could you please tell me?

I rent a house for $2,000 a month and sublet a room for $1,000, I found an option in TurboTax for my rent income, but not for my rent expenses. Obviously, $1000 a month is not my real income, after deducting the rent I paid, I still have to pay $1000 in rent and have no income from rent.

You can enter the rent that you paid as Other expenses.

Please note, if you are charging your renter less a fair market rate (not intending to make a profit), then the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will see this as an accommodation sharing arrangement, so you not be able to claim your income or expenses.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
