Do education deductibles and credits only count for the current year or all tuition ever paid?

I have connected my CRA account to file my 2020 taxes. In the deductibles for tuition and such it is using all the tuition I've ever paid not just what I paid in 2020. I just finished school this past year so I'm not sure if the entirety of my tuition should be added. Also, it is more than what all my T2202A slips say combined.

You can’t choose when you want to use the tuition/education credit, it must be used when it is needed.

If you have unused tuition from previous years, it will be used (along with any current tuition), on your 2020 tax returns to reduce your taxes payable. If you have any tuition left, it will carry forward to future years.
