How can I claim Ontario tuition amounts that were paid prior to 2016/2017? A letter from the CRA indicated I can claim it.

I was recently reassessed for the 2016 tax year and a letter from that reassessment indicated the amount was available, despite the credit being removed from Ontario in 2017.

I'm not sure what you mean by credit removed by Ontario...don't think Ford has done that ..yet anyway! 

But to answer your question, you really don't do anything except be sure to report and Tuition from later years 2017 and 2018, if not done so already.

Your 2018 Notice will indicate the cumulative tuition credit you have, both Federal and Provincial.

Note this credit will be applied to reduce your tax payable going forward, until the credit is exhausted .
