I attended a college course from October 2021 to February 2022. My employer paid the tuition directly to the school. I received a t2202 for 2021. Can I claim it?

Generally, a course taken in 2021 in an institution in Canada will qualify for a tuition tax credit if it was either:

* taken at a post-secondary education institution

* for individuals 16 years of age or older at the end of the year, who are developing or improving skills in an occupation and the educational institution has been certified by the Minister of Employment and Social Development Canada

You are usually allowed to claim tuition on your tax return (Especially when provided a T2202), However there are factors that may not allow you to claim them. According to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), you cannot claim the tuition amount on your tax certificate if the fees were paid or reimbursed by your employer, or an employer of one of your parents, where the amount is not included in your parents income.

As you've stated that your employer had paid the tuition fees for you, you are not eligible to claim the tuition on your tax return even if you were provided a T2202.
