Looking to have my dad claim staycation tax credit this year but issue is although hotel receipt is under his name I paid for it. Can he still claim it?

Since the receipt is under your parent's name, he will be eligible to claim the Ontario Staycation Tax Credit.

According to Ontario Staycation Tax Credit, to be eligible to claim the expenses, you must keep your detailed receipts for any eligible expenses you claim for the credit. Those receipts must include the amount of any GST/HST paid. The detailed receipt should be provided by the supplier registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST)/Harmonized Sales Tax (HST).

One thing to note: only one individual per family can claim the tax credit in 2022, which can include the expenses of your spouse, common-law partner, and eligible children.
