CRA said "the calculated CPP contributions on line 308 plus the calculated CPP overpayment on line 448... does not equal your CPP contributions on line 5034, from box 16 of all of your T4 slips." I entered the CPP payment from my T4, which is copied on line 308. Nothing is listed on line 448 as an overpayment. How can I clear the CRA error, so I can file?

THe slip issuer may have made an error. Enter the maximum CPP amount into your on-line return to bypass the error.

The issue appears to be a discrepancy in the maximum CPP amount. Line 308 indicates the max is 2,544.30, while line 5034 (on schedule 😎 indicates that it is 2,564.10. Which should I enter? The higher amount gave me the error.

I think I have figured it out. Turbo Tax is saying that the maximum on line 308 is 2,544.30, which is a mistake (they are using last year's number). Surely someone else has run into this problem?

Regardless, you will either have to wait for the online software to be corrected, or file with the number that Turbotax allows. CRA will adjust the amount upon assessment of your return. I assume you are using 2017 tax year software from online.

CRA will not allow me to Netfile with the number that TurboTax allows. Yes, I am using the 2017 software with all of the updates, purchased this month. I assume that TurboTax lowered the number on line 308 to their maximum, which does not balance with my T4 (which is the correct amount).

Yes, CRA is applying the calculated maximum for 2017, ($2564.10) which does not equal line 308, which in turn does not equal what's on your T-slips. And yes the slip maximum in TT does seem to be for 2016. This should be a widespread bug but I've seen no mention of it. The question context says you are using online software, which should be the latest. Off the top I can only think you have to wait for Turborax to fix this bug, as it appears.

Yes, there must be another factor at work, as such a gross bug would show up in many returns. Mailing in is a good idea, attaching a copy of the T4.
