If you entered the wrong amount of tuition and you are using TurboTax Online, You will go to Deductions— Students and continuing—on the next page, you can click on EDIT beside your tuition paid.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
Your comment does NOT answer my question. Read the question before posting. I did not input the wrong amount. I want to claim less than what the total amount paid for is so that I can carry forward the balance. To do that you have to be able to input the total amount paid and then reduce the deduction to create a carry forward amount but there is no place to reduce the amount to deduct.
Do you have a solution for that?
DOES NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION!
You can do any adjustments needed on your return before you file. You can't change amounts that were on your TSlips.
another completely useless comment-Turbo Tax is a waste-will look for something else to use
Here is the TurboTax FAQ: How do I claim my tuition fees in TurboTax?
Another useless comment from you-it is obvious you do not read the question and/or know little about how Turbo Tax actual works technically and nothing about the tax act. If you have tuition fees they are usually on a T2202 form (NOT a T4), and you do not have to deduct the full amount. You can input the fees you paid per the T2202 on the schedule 11 and then decide how much to deduct - the remainder is carried forward to a future year or transferred to an eligible person.
It is apparent that one cannot access the schedule 11 in Turbo Tax BEFORE filing the return, I will look for another company to file next year as I am fed up with Turbo Tax. DO NOT REPLY TO MY RESPONSE HERE as you have nothing worthwhile to add.
COMPLETELY FEDUP!
