Should tuition amounts paid decrease the tax return amount?

My tax return decreased from $1900 to $160, after entering my full-time eligible tuition fees.

Yes, unfortunately, once you do add your tuition, your refund amount does decrease. Many times it is because it calculated a credit such as the Canada Workers Benefit credit, and then once you entered your tuition, you no longer qualified for this credit, which made your refund go down.
