Spouse still has a balance owing after tuition tax credit transfer.

I had transfer some of my available tuition tax credit to my husband, but it is still showing up that he owes around $440. Why isn't his balance owing be 0$?

Spouse still has a balance owing after tuition tax credit transfer.

The refund or balance due is calculated based on the income, deductions, non-refundable tax credits and refundable tax credits.  It is entirely possible that even with the transfer of tuition, your husband's tax liability still exceeded his refundable credits, thus resulting in a balance due.
