How can I tell the difference between a RRSP and a RPP tax receipts? I have a tax receipt from my bank, but the contribution type just says "regular".

There are a few clues to look for in an RRSP receipt

1. you usually have 3 copies that are identical

2. It will say something like "Contributions made for the remainder of 2018" or "contributions made in the first 60 days of 2019

3. You should see written on it "Registered Retirement Saving Plan"

I hope this helps.
