The CRA’s NETFILE service is open and available for tax year 2025 on February 24, 2025.

Once NETFILE is open, it's available 21 hours a day, seven days a week. The service is down the remaining three hours a day for maintenance. If, for whatever reason, you miss the tax filing deadline which was applicable to you, you are still able to use the NETFILE service.

Note: TurboTax Desktop users will need to update their product once NETFILE opens to enable functionality.

Tax years 2020-2023

The CRA’s NETFILE service accepts tax returns for the past four years. NETFILE and Auto-Fill My Return services are available to file your tax year 2023, 2022, 2021, and 2020 returns.

Tax year 2019 and prior

You need to print and mail your tax returns for 2019 or prior tax years.
