Thanks for choosing Turbotax. No, the cost of getting a professional license is not considered a membership fee. If you are working towards a certification or professional status in a trade then you may be eligible to deduct the examination fees on your taxes. If you paid at least $100 in examination fees and meet the criteria, you may be able to claim them under the tuition tax credit , which reduces the amount of tax you owe, if any.
You can claim your examination fee as a tuition expense, provided it meets the following conditions:
The examination fee is a requirement for obtaining your professional status or to be certified or licensed as a person in the trades.
Your examination fees are paid to an educational institution, professional association, government ministry, or other related institution.
The certification or license allows you to practice your trade in Canada.
Usually, GST/HST is added to examination fees. The good news is you can claim these taxes as part of the tuition tax credit.

Thanks for your question. It can take as little as 8 business days to receive your refund when NETFILING your tax return. While it can take as little as 8 business days to receive your refund, the Canada Revenue Agency asks that you wait at least 4 weeks before calling them because it may take longer to process your return. You can also check the status of your return online by logging in at CRA.

Thanks for choosing TurboTax. If you have claimed Capital Cost Allowance (CCA) in the past on your vehicle used for Business or Employment, you will have a number left at the end of the year known as Undepreciated Capital Cost or UCC.
If this is your first time claiming CCA on that vehicle, you will not have a UCC amount. UCC is the balance of the capital cost left for further depreciation at any given time.
For example, if you claimed the full 30% CCA on a $10,000 vehicle last year, your UCC would be $7,000
( $10,000 - $3,000 = $7,000 UCC)

Thanks for your question. Rent paid in Ontario is reported under Provincial>Provincial Tax credits- through the Ontario Trillium Benefit. This program combines 1. Ontario Sales Tax, 2. Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit (Rent, energy, property tax) and 3. Northern Energy Credit (for taxpayers living in Northern Ontario) This benefit does not affect the tax return, It is paid out separately just like the GST and Child Tax Benefit. You can view the estimated amount on the bottom line(tax summaries) screen under REVIEW. Please keep your receipts in case Canada Revenue Agency asks to see them in the future.
Please click here to read about Ontario Trillium Benefit.
