Can someone please explain how Quebec line 252 gets filled in? Help says it is completed automatically from T-slip data but I don't see any connection between this value and T-slips (except that it is affected by investment income from T-slips). It's also referenced on Schedule N, line 70 "(see line 252 in the Guide)". Revenu Quebec description is not very clear either. I'm thinking that it comes from the amount calculated on Schedule N, line 80 in the previous year's return. If this is the case, then why doesn't TurboTax Help say so? I had a carry-forward amount from 2015 on Schedule N, line 80, that then appeared on Line 70 for 2016. Turbotax seems to have used that to calculate the entry for line 252 based on available "deduction room" between 2016 investment earnings and expenses, but that claim was subsequently denied by Revenu Quebec! CNIL calculation on TP-726.6-V is also implicated, but the relationship between the numbers is difficult to follow.

When Planner Mode is activated, the Turbotax title bar changes to show the new year (i.e. 2018 when using Turbotax 2017). Each time a new file is opened, Turbotax reverts to calculations for the current year. However the title bar continues to show "2018". Will this be fixed in Turbotax 2019?

When a green value linked to a Quebec schedule or form is double-clicked, TurboTax opens the schedule immediately below the appropriate one in the forms list. Anyone else noticed this? Is Intuit aware?

Line K should show the difference between lines H and J, with the lesser of that amount or $2000 being transferred to line 314. Instead TurboTax shows $2000 on line K if the calculated amount is larger. For some reason lines L, M and N are not filled in when viewed in the transferring spouse's return, but the numbers are populated in the receiving spouse's return. Also, line N has the same problem with the $2000 cap in the receiving spouse's return as line K does in the transferring spouse's return. Lines H, J and K are blank in the receiving spouse's return like lines L, M and N in the transferring spouse's return. The same problem exists with lines 1, 2 and 3 at the bottom of the form - data is only filled in on the corresponding spouse's return; the other spouse's data is left blank. Since this form already includes a check box to identify the transferring spouse, the contents should be the same when viewed in either return. This will avoid any errors if the form is printed. I just discovered these issues when preparing printed copies to support an adjustment request submitted on paper to CRA.

When I save a return to PDF using an existing file name, I am prompted to confirm that it's OK to overwrite (normal Windows procedure). If that existing file is already open in Acrobat, the new PDF does not get saved (again, normal Windows procedure). However TurboTax does not notify me there was a problem. As a result, I think I've saved a new version of the PDF when in fact I haven't.

I reported this during a chatwith Intuit and was essentially told I wasn't qualified to say it was wrong! The software is CRA-approved so it must be right. How does this get brought to Intuit's attention?
