Hi Your spouse's income is required to calculate the applicable spousal non-refundable credit. Before you enter the amount, the system calculated the credit, which was reduced or negated based on that income. Anything over the $11,327 would negate it completely. Hope this helps. Christine

Hi If you are both on title and qualify, yes you can split the credit. The address should be the same as your tax return - if the sale closed in 2015. Since the credit applies to a principal residence only there is no need to enter the address. Christine

Hi There may be an incorrect entry in one of your slips. Review all slips under the income tab. For example a T4 - Box 44 is union dues, and Box 46 is Charitable donations, could just be in the wrong box. Christine

Hi Since the income/loss within the RRSP is not claimed, you cannot claim the management fees. It will work out in the end as the fees will adjust the RRSP income at a later date. Christine

Hi The T2201 if approved by CRA allows a transfer of the child's disability tax credit to a parent. It is a non-refundable credit, so its worth is primarily based on whether you have taxable income each year. The maximum transfer (some of the child's information may reduce this) for a child under 18 is $12,506. The Federal Credit is $12506 X 15 % = $ 1875.90. The Provincial credit would be based on your province of residence. If you / your spouse are taxable, then yes, then I suggest it is worth the fee to have the form completed. Christine

Hi Under the RRSP tab, check the 4th option in the RRSP profile - I made PRPP contributions, or my employer made PRPP contributions on my behalf. Then click through until you see the correct screen and add new PRPP receipt for your spouse. Christine

Hi Per CRA, the First Time Homebuyer's Credit is claimed in the year that the home is acquired. The T4RSP for the Homebuyer's plan, does not affect your tax return. It is for information purposes for CRA to complete the repayment schedule. Your repayment, to your own RRSP's, will be required in the 2nd year following the withdrawal, which also will be 2017 for you. Hope this helps. Christine

Hi Provided you have a Box 32, you make the claim for all family members for up to 2 trips. You can enter all the names on one line for each trip. You will need to divided the Box 32 income so the the total employment benefit on the Northern Residents trip form, does not exceed the Box 32 information. Hope this helps. Christine
