Actually the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) defines principal residence as any residential property both owned and occupied by you or family at any time in a given year. The principal residence exception is used for tax purposes to shelter any increases in property value from being subject to capital gains when sold, like other investments. In your case since you are renting you would not be declaring a principal residence for tax purposes.

Attached some screenshots of how to go back to the point to unmark that you're self employed. Once you've done this, from the main navigation go to "Income > Get Started" and when you step through this you should no longer be asked about Self-Employment for your return. Note that if you're filing as a joint return TurboTax will step you through both returns at the same time.

Yes, you can update your profile to remove self-employment. In TurboTax Online from the top navigation choose Setting up > Personal Tax Profile for ... From the "Your Tax Profile Summary" screen look for Income & work related expenses and choose Edit. Then under the question "... did you work in 2017?" scroll down & uncheck the box next to: I was self employed (freelancer, contractor, independent worker, professional, commission-based, farming, fishing)

Yes there is an issue the team's working on fixing. In the meantime, here's how you can work around it.
Enter enough information on the business summary screen so you can continue to the next screen (don't worry you'll delete this later)
Once you're on the next screen click the "Find" button, search and select the option for "business"
When you're on the business summary screen use the delete button to the right of the business that's displaying to wipe out the business associated with you.

You can enter "0" on this screen, it's not related to your carry forward amounts. The "Refund of unused RRSP" screen is only for when you've made an over-contribution and submitted T746 to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

It sounds like you may be on the wrong screen. If you used TurboTax last year and used carry forward or you used Auto-Fill My Return (AFR), your unused RRSP contributions should already be pulled into this year's tax return. If you didn't use carry forward or AFR, you can follow these steps in TurboTax Online to add them:
In the upper-right corner of your screen, select Find.
In the Find window, type Unused RRSP and select Go. If you downloaded from the CRA Auto-Fill My Return service or carried forward your return from a prior year, you may already have an amount for unused RRSP/PRPP contributions in your return.
Confirm the amount; or, answer yes to the question Do you want to change this amount? and enter your amount.

I'm sorry for your loss. The date of the death is a question in the Intro section. After answering that you're preparing the return for someone else and you enter their first name, the TurboTax screen expands and asks if the person has passed away. Answer 'yes' and then you'll be prompted to enter the date of death.

Yes include the total cost including taxes with your vehicle expenses. Here's a list from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) outlining all deductible motor vehicle expenses: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/businesses/topics/sole-proprietorships-partners...
