These are investment fees. Click on the income tab, scroll down to investment expenses, and choose management fees.

This would be considered Self Employment income. You would report both the income and expenses in the Self Employment screen. You can use your own name for the business name and do not require a business number.

On the T5008 screen the box beside Type of Income has a drop down menu where you choose either Capital Gains or Investment. Make sure it is set to Capital Gains when you enter the information on the T5008.

On your Personal Tax Profile choose Yes for Are there other deductions such as public transit, union or professional dues or alimony that you want to claim. Check box the says I paid union dues or professional fees. Then under Deductions and Credits under Payment profile you will find Union or Professional Dues. This is where you would enter the Ontario College of Teachers fee amount.

When selling a vacation property you will need the following: Proceeds of disposition: How much you sold it for converted to CAD Adjusted Cost Base: How much you bought it for plus any expenses incurred to buy it and any capital expenditures (like and addition) Outlays and Expenses: Such as real estate, legal expenses that you incurred when selling the house. There are quite a number of areas of income that can give you an amount under other income. The most common ones are: Home Buyers Plan repayment not made so amount is added to income. Box 26 from a T3 slip Box 105, 42 and 28 on a T4A slip.

You would only enter the T3 once and indicate the split. If it is 50%, 1/2 of the amount will show up on each return automatically.

In order for the credits to calculate correctly on your daughter's return you will have to input her husband's income amount. And you are correct, if you input 0 the program will automatically claim him as a dependent.
