How do I fix error code 32?

Receiving error code 32 means that you’ve filed a Canadian tax return before and have declared yourself as a first-time filer. Be sure to update your info to reflect that you aren't a first-time filer.

Here's how to update your info:

TurboTax Online

  1. Go back to the 2024 tax return screen (found on the left menu).
  2. Find the Tax profile section.
  3. Select the pencil icon beside Mandatory questions.
  4. Check the answer to Is this your first tax return being filed with the CRA?

TurboTax Desktop

  1. From the left menu, select Introduction then select Contact info.
  2. Scroll down to the Additional Personal Information section.
  3. Check the answer to Are you filing an income tax return with the CRA for the first time?
