How do I claim the PEI children’s wellness tax credit?

Starting in tax year 2021, a $500 nonrefundable PEI children’s wellness tax credit is available to families with children who participated in eligible wellness activities. This credit helps offset the cost of registration or membership for your child.

The participating child must have been under 18 at the start of the year in which the activity fees were paid. Visit the CRA website for more information, including which activities qualify

Before beginning, make sure you’ve entered details about your dependant(s) on the Dependants information step in TurboTax.

  1. Select Find and enter claims for dependants.
  2. Select the result, then select Go.
  3. On the Claims for Dependants step, answer Yes to the question Would you like to review or claim any of these credits?, then select Continue.
  4. Select Enter Credit Info next to the eligible dependant.
  5. Select the checkbox for Child Wellness tax credit (provincial credit only), then select Continue.
  6. Enter the amount of eligible expenses and choose who is claiming the credit, then select Continue
  7. Select Done Entering Credits.

  6. Choose who is claiming the credit and enter the amount of eligible expenses, then select Continue.
  7. Select Done Entering Credits.
