Why am I getting a greyed out screen when using the license code switch feature?

Some TurboTax Desktop customers are getting a greyed out screen when using the license code switch feature.

To work around this error, follow these steps:

  • Go to C:\ProgramData\Intuit Canada\tt20xx

  • Right-click and select Edit on TTConfig file.

  • Delete SmallGraph=34 100

  • Add UseCustomUMID=1

  • Save the TTConfig file.

  • Launch TurboTax. It should prompt you to enter the license code.
