What if the RRSP deduction limit on my Notice of Assessment is different than what TurboTax transferred from last year?

by TurboTax Updated 2 weeks ago

If your RRSP deduction amount on your Notice of Assessment (NOA) doesn't match what TurboTax transferred from your prior-year return, you need to update the amount on your current year return to match the amount on your NOA.

  1. From the Tax home screen, under Add to your return, enter registered and select Registered Savings Plan Profile.
  2. At the Your registered savings plan profile for 2024 screen, select Continue.
  3. On the What's your RRSP/PRPP deduction limit? screen, you can enter the amount from your CRA Notice of Assessment for the previous tax year and then continue.

If you don't see the Tax home screen, you may not have completed the Intro steps of your return. Continue through these steps until the Tax home screen is unlocked.

  1. Select the Find icon, enter RRSP in the popup search bar, select RRSP deduction limit for 2024, then select Go..
  2. On the What's your RRSP/PRPP deduction limit? screen, enter your current tax year RRSP/PRPP Deduction limit from your prior-tax year CRA Notice of Assessment.
  3. Select Continue.

If you don't see the Find button, you may not have completed the Intro/Profile steps of your return. Continue through these steps until the Find button is active.
