Claiming medical expenses for a child who is not a dependant

Our son, who is 30 has been in and out of treatment centres for addictions.  We have paid all of the expenses (which are significant).  Our son has had very little income for the last year so was unable to pay for treatment.  Is there any way to claim that on our taxes?  One of the tax receipts from a treatment centre  has my name on it.

Yes, Add your son as a dependent, in the intro, with his net income. Under medical expense profile, you can select paid for medical of dependents over 18. You can claim medical over 3% of your sons net income.

You can only claim medical expenses for your son for which you have paid.
