It is not necessary to use TurboTax Full Service or TurboTax Assist & Review- self-employed. However, if you would like to have Audit Defence- you can choose to purchase it before you file your income tax return. Once you have went through the Review of your return- you will be asked if you'd like Audit Defence- or you can go directly there, by clicking on Review- on the left hand side of your return and scroll down you will see Audit Defence and click on it.
