Have to mail my return, do I pay my amount owing through my bank first eventhough my return has yet to be received by CRA.

You need to pay any taxes due on or before the deadline. If you just mailed your return (or are just about to) it's pretty unlikely that the CRA will assess your return before the tax deadline, but technically, you could wait to the last minute to see if they do.

If when the CRA assesses your return there is a change to your bottom line, they'll either refund any overage or contact you to provide directions on how to pay the difference.
