Prior to returns to 2017, when using TurboTax Standard, once you enter your marital status and click on continue to go to the next screen, you cannot go back and change it. Unfortunately, you would have to start a new income tax return from the beginning.
For 2017 tax returns, you do not need to start a new income tax return. Please review the following FAQ for instructions on how to correct your marital status.
