Did you go to turbotax.ca/activate to use your activation code before you start your returns? If you didn’t, then the returns that you just did were still “pay per return”, rather than part of your Deluxe package.
If you did active your Deluxe package properly, then did you enter anything on your returns that isn’t included in TurboTax Deluxe Online? If so, then both you and your spouse’s returns would have been upgraded to the appropriate version for your needs, and you will have to pay the difference between Deluxe and your current version. The same would apply if you added a feature such as Assist & Review or Audit protection.
