I don't know if it's better to file my taxes with or without my common law partner. Is the return better or worse when you file together?

Unlike in some other countries, Canada doesn't have joint filing for spouses/partners. So preparing your returns together or separately doesn't really change anything.

We recommend preparing your return together with your spouse/partner because then TurboTax will be able to consider both your returns when it does its calculations.
