I had to pay back my employer $3748.84. How do I amend my 2017 taxes and get a possible refund on this pay back amount ?

Did you employer provide you with a new T4 slip?

No. They have given me a letter with the amount I paid back though.

If you paid your employed back in 2018 then The repayment would most likely be reflected next year.

"The employee may claim a deduction on his or her personal income tax and benefits return in the year the amount was repaid"
