I recently got divorced halfway during my tax year. I am trying to file taxes, but my ex partner has not filed anything yet, and the application asks for her income. Help

It asks for her line 23600
But she has not filed yet. What should i do?

When you don’t know your spouse’s income and can’t find out through reasonable means, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) recommends that you enter your best estimate.

  • The CRA will assess yours and your spouse’s (or former spouse’s) returns together to ensure that the credits and deductions were correctly applied between you. If there’s any inaccuracy or mismatch, they’ll reassess your returns.
