Is my grade 1 dependent considered a student? (deductions/additional dependent information section)

Your grade 1 dependent is not considered a student who can deduct any education deduction nor claim tax credits. Only a child of at least 17 years old and enrolled in a qualifying college, university, or educational institution, is eligible for the tuition credit Deducting Your Child’s School Tuition From Your Taxes?

However, you can claim Child Care Expenses.
