More beneficial for custody?

if I have a shared 50/50 custody with my daughter and the mom does not work, she collects financial assistance and I pay her child support every month who is more beneficial to claim our daughter come tax time?

If you are paying child support, unfortunately you will not be able to make a claim for personal credits for your daughter.  You will not be able to make a claim for the eligible dependant credit, unless you separated in 2017.

I guess maybe I worded that wrong, I know I cant claim the support amount on my taxes, but is it more beneficial for me to claim my daughter as equivalent to spouse as dependant?

If you are paying support, you can't claim the equivalent to spouse as dependant.

More beneficial for custody?

It is included in the link I provided.

The name of the credit is no longer "equivalent to spouse" it is now called "eligible dependant."
