As the marital status only occurred in January 2023, you do not have to include it on your 2022 return which is what is to be filed this tax season. You should contact the Canada Revenue Agency to immediately make the change in your file as it may benefit you in the future towards credits applied for. Please follow this Canada Revenue Agency link to: Update your CRA information: Change your marital status.

For more information please see our TurboTax FAQ/video: How does a change in marital status affect my tax return?

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
