My spouse is living in our home country. Each year in May, I applied for our tax return for his own income separately. What should I put for all the info about my spouse?

Just to make sure, I am now applying for myself and my spouse does not have SIN number. Should I say that he has 0 income even if I am going to do one for him in May?

If your spouse is not a resident yet and does not have a SIN number, then the answer is Yes.

You file one return for yourself as married, add your spouse with a zero SIN number and non-resident.

When he arrives in May and you apply for a SIN number > you can submit a tax return for him the following year if he becomes a resident.

I hope this was helpful.
