We share custody of our child. Can we each claim 50% of equivalent to spouse and child tax benefit? How do we individually include shared custody on our returns. Can 1 person claim equivalent to spouse and other person child tax benefit. Once enter dependant automatically calculate child tax benefit and tried to override unsuccesfully.

These credits must be claimed by one parent or the other, cannot be split in any proportion.
