Disability amount transfer for now 18 year old

Hi there,

We have always claimed the disability amount transfer from our son when he was a child without any problems. However, as he got older we've had to start filing his taxes the past two years for him to prove his zero income for government services. This is the first year he's turned 18 and I'm wondering now with the question on Turbotax "Does ***** qualify for the claim and have an approved T2201 (Disability Tax Credit Certificate) on file with the CRA?" Normally we've always said yes and this adds the basic amount 10,138 to line 31600. Now that he's 18 and it still adds this amount on his claim, can I still claim the transfer of this amount on mine via line 31800 with him being an adult now? He still has zero income other than one T5007 form so adding to 31600 does not change anything for him. I just don't want CRA to question why he's claiming and then i ask for the transfer? Is this normal to do?

As per CRA, If your dependant was 18 or older

To claim for a dependant who was 18 years or older at the end of the year, fill out the chart for line 31800 on the Federal Worksheet for your return at Get a T1 income tax package to calculate your claim for each dependant.
