Disability Overpayment

Hi,

We received a letter from Canada Life saying we repaid disability benefits in an amount that exceeded the disability benefits we received.. As as result of this repayment, for the 2020 tax year, you can claim a reduction in your taxable income in the amount of $****.** which means you will pay less income tax.  As per federal regulation the overpayment can be claimed on your 2020 income tax form on line 22900 (other deductions) and this letter should be included with your tax return.

So my question is... Where in turbotax would we enter this deduction?

Thanks,

James

Disability Overpayment

As you have been guided to include the letter with your taxes and we cannot see all the information you have, it would be best to contact the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to clarify where this amount should go for you to receive the overpayment. Contact the Canada Revenue Agency

Thank you for using TurboTax.
