Don't understand the request for Federal non-refundable credits (T1, sum of lines 30300 to 31400). The total non refundable tax credits is line 35000 - do I enter that?

Or it is looking for a subset of that that I have to add up myself?

Can you clarify where you are at in your income tax return? If you are using TurboTax Download- click on EasySteps and it might be better for you to go through that way. Once you have completed your return you can then go to "Forms" mode and verify that all the entries are entered.

I have a similar question, and did not find the response clear.  It’s the section where I am asked: "Tell us about your dependents”. At the bottom of the subsection for each dependent, it says the following:

Federal non-refundable credits (T1, sum of lines 30300 to 31400)

So I looked up those line numbers on the 2024 T1 form.  They don’t really make sense - line 31400 is itself a sum of many other lines. I’m confused as to what to put here.

@TXX123 Line 35000 is the TOTAL FEDERAL NON-REFUNDABLE TAX CREDIT. It's everything (calculations, credits, etc.) in Part B section of T1 General and their role on your income. This is a calculated amount related to what you entered in your return.

Line 31400 is PENSION INCOME AMOUNT, where you may be able to claim up to $2,000 if you reported eligible pension, superannuation or annuity payments, and it's part of the calculation for line 35000. This is also an automatic calculation depending on what you entered in your return.
