Is there a way to return to a screen with a button that allows a couple to split the charitable donations and optimize the credit, thanks?

Yes, you can search for "Donations" or use the side panel to select "Donations" under "Deductions" and continue in the same section to reach the Donation options page. Refer to the attached screenshots below.
