If your mother is willing to claim any payment on her own tax return as income (she must issue receipts including her SIN) then you can pay her a fee and claim the amount as Childcare Expenses on your tax return. The annual limit for a child 6 or under is $8000 and for children 7 to 16 is $5000. This limit applies to each child you have and not just to the child under care.
