Hello, I called your office but unfortunately no one was able to help me.  Just a question regarding the security of your online program. Can you please explain how information recorded in your online version will not be jeopardized? For years I have used TurboTax by downloading the CD where information is obviously secured on my hard drive. In this case however it is stored on (I suspect) one of your servers. Can you please explain how my data will be kept secure and kept confidential

Hi, I work at Intuit and can provide the following information on how TurboTax Online data is stored, from our web site:

If you are using the TurboTax online application, we encrypt your tax return information and store it safely on our secure servers, which reside in Canada. Intuit does not store any tax return information outside of Canada. Unless you give us specific consent, you are the only one who will have access to your own tax return information, subject to legislated exceptions.

If you have any additional concerns, please let me know. We use the same level of security as Canadian banks so if you are comfortable online banking you should be comfortable using TurboTax Online.
