Medical expenses are generally claimed by the spouse with the lower net income, as the value of the credit is greater that way. As to donations...the total for both spouses can be claimed on one spouse or the other, or split...generally again it is better for one spouse to claim all donations. The transit passes may also be claimed by either spouse.
