We are filing a declaration for the first time. Check the appropriate box to that effect. When we got to the end and submitted via NETFILE, we got an error as if we already had an existing account with the CRA and had already signed up. We contacted the CRA. The answer is that we don't have your account, declarations, or anything related to it. Our friends, several families, applied in the same way. They were successful. Why do we have such a problem?
The CRA may have your information if you have provided them with the last 2 years of information including income from your country before you moved to Canada. If they said they don't then you will need to print and mail in your income tax return.
